    elderly people do lose teeth, some all of them.

    great work, and indeed: if you want to show your teeth, just smile.

    indeed. some elders have no teeth anymore.
    but i think rasmusW point is also right.
    it's not the missing teeth which bothers me.
    its that pure, pitch black hole in his mouth.
    it looks like a too clean cut.
    i guess you would still see some soft flesh tones or a bit of the tongue.

    but he looks just great. i would love to be able to create my own grandfather with a result like this.
    and your use of of (fibermesh?) is great. not just the hair and beard. but also in his ears and his sweater.
    and a great use of wrinkles and skin texture.
    how did you made this skin texture look like this? in the sculpting mode with alpha brushes or with a bumpmap?
    please tell me! i need to learn

    Nice sculpting! Great job on the skin, hair and wrinkles! Not sure if the edges of the sweater around the shoulders look too hairy?
